Junction 42

We are thankful to the charity Junction 42 whose partnership assisted us through their cell-pack programme. This strategy proved very successful, with 2022-23 being a record year in the programme's twelve year history. A 37% increase in LL connections took the total number of writers to 385 across eighty five prisons, which is also a record number. Fifty new LL writers were trained during the year allowing even more Volunteers to participate in the programme.

MDASS Reports 2023: Utilised a community organisation Junction 42, to support unemployed or ‘the hardest to reach prisoners’.

Ofsted HMP Low Newton Report: Junction 42, a local faith charity working alongside the chaplaincy, offered all women being released an unusually good pack of essential toiletries, sanitary and menstrual items Facemasks, hand sanitiser, plain holdalls and release clothing if needed were all provided in reception before release. Mobile phones were available for those who needed one.
