Employability and Education

chapter 1

Our Creative Arts workshop uses different art forms, such as drama, music and art, for personal and social development, allowing individuals to explore who they are as themselves, who they are within their family and who they are within their community.

The story of Cinderella is used to explore issues of family displacement in a drama project, while creative writing is used to help individuals reflect on what is inside and help them find a voice.

These short-term projects are delivered by our outreach workers alongside professional artists. If you would have creative skills that you feel would contribute to one of these projects please contact volunteer@junction42.org or call 0191 233 2288.

We know that prison leavers, ex-offenders, the long-term unemployed and those recovering from dependence or addiction face enormous challenges in gaining employment.

That’s why, we began a Job Club in partnership with Christians Against Poverty and Clean Sheet. We run a 10 week employability course and a drop in centre to encourage both those leaving prison and those struggling for work in the community to enter sustainable long term employment.

The Job Club is an exciting new venture, which encompasses all of our core beliefs in creating community, encouraging independence and empowering the transformation of lives.

If you would like to find out more information about enrolling on at Job Club, or volunteering as a mentor please contact jobclub@junction42.org or call 0191 233 2288.
